Machining Supervisor
Location: St. Louis Metro Area
Schedule: 1st Shift (Flexible Scheduling Options)
Position Type: Full-Time, Hourly
Compensation: $40-$45/hour (flexibility for highly qualified candidates)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Machining Supervisor to lead daily machining operations in a precision manufacturing environment serving the aerospace industry. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving safety, quality, productivity, employee development, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring customer delivery requirements are met.
The ideal candidate will have aerospace manufacturing experience and a strong background supervising CNC machining operations. Experience with equipment and controls utilized by industry-leading organizations is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of machinists and manufacturing professionals.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure production schedules, customer requirements, and delivery commitments are achieved.
- Drive productivity improvements through process optimization, tooling enhancements, and equipment utilization.
- Manage staffing, scheduling, training, and workforce development activities.
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and employee development planning.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing and 6S initiatives to improve operational performance.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production challenges.
- Monitor key performance indicators and communicate department performance to leadership.
- Support audits, customer visits, and operational improvement initiatives.
- Maintain departmental performance within budgetary objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Aerospace manufacturing experience or experience in a closely related industry is required.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC machining operations, tooling, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience leading production teams and managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Vocational training, technical education, some college coursework, or equivalent industry experience.

- Other aerospace machining manufacturers
Hands-on experience with the following is strongly preferred:
- 3-axis CNC machining centers
- 5-axis CNC machining centers
- Mazak machinery
- Integrex machines
- Siemens controls
- Advanced CNC programming and machining processes

Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive hourly compensation of $40-$45/hour.
- Additional compensation consideration for highly experienced candidates.
- Annual incentive program with a target payout of 10% of annual earnings. Historical payouts have exceeded target and have reached as high as 25%.

- Primarily indoor manufacturing facility.
- Combination of shop floor leadership and administrative responsibilities.
- Regular interaction with machining equipment and production operations.
- Occasional lifting, standing, walking, and movement throughout the facility.
